Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships Application Details
The Aga Khan Foundation offers scholarships every year to exceptional students from select developing countries who are unable to fund their postgraduate studies. The scholarship aims to develop effective scholars and leaders and to prepare them for employment, primarily within the AKDN. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant: 50% loan basis through a competitive application process that takes place once a year in June or July.
Priority is given to Master’s level courses, but applications for Ph.D. programs are also accepted, given that the student is outstanding and highly recommended for doctoral studies by their professors. The Foundation only considers Ph.D. applications from students who need a Ph.D. to fulfill their career objectives (academic or research-oriented).
Please note that the Foundation does not consider applications for short-term courses and from students who have already started their course of study. Also, the scholarship is not available for students pursuing a degree in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, The Netherlands, Italy, Norway, and Ireland.
